Our mission
SEE Ukraine Info Hub is an independent multilingual media and analysis platform for readers in Southeastern Europe – a bridge between South Eastern Europe and Ukraine. We write about Ukraine in Slovenian, Croatian, Serbian, English and Ukrainian – directly, without intermediaries.
In the region, Ukraine is often discussed secondhand: through Russian narratives, retold reports or stereotypes shaped for decades by imperial, then Soviet and now Russian propaganda. Our mission is to let readers see Ukraine as it really is: with its history, culture and people, its present-day fight for independence, and its right to its own voice, its own identity and agency.
What we do:
We explain. We analyze events in Ukraine and their consequences for Europe and the Balkans, providing the context that short news items lack.
We verify. We track and debunk Russian disinformation in the region's media space and show how manipulation works and where it comes from.
We discover. We tell the stories of Ukrainian history, culture and remarkable people – including those whom Russia appropriated and passed off as its own for centuries.
We connect. We seek out and show the ties between Ukraine and the countries of Southeastern Europe – shared history, human destinies and cultural bridges that existed long before today.
We follow the principles of responsible journalism and analysis: we check facts, name our sources, and acknowledge and correct our mistakes. We are not neutral about aggression, but we are honest about facts.
Ukraine is more. Discover.
